The Digital Tools We Will Be Using
Get familiar with these digital tools ahead of the programme kick-off
Doing things a little differently
Given the practical nature of the programme, I decided against using one of the popular online course platforms (Teachable, UDemy, Podia). They don’t have the flexibility and freedom that is so fundamental to this programme being effective. You’ll see what I mean, especially as we move in the later phases of the initiative.
The trade-off
The alternative to a general-purpose course platform is a collection of digital tools, each chosen to serve a specific function. The variety-pack approach enables us to achieve the unique, practical goals of the programme, but.. it also means learning how to operate several different platforms instead of just one. I hoping this trade-off is worth it. The silver lining is that you get to explore a set of new digital tools, that may be useful to you in other areas of your personal or professional life.
In any case, here is what we will be using.
The Circles in Time Stack
Live Online Workshops & Breakouts: Zoom
Notice Board for Weekly Updates: WhatsApp
Pre-readings & Summaries: Substack (Posts & Podcasts)
Behaviour Mapping: Notion Customised Templates
Intervention Design: Notion Customised Templates
Experiment Design: Notion Customised Templates
Video Tutorials: WhatsApp & Notion
Group Discussions: Slack & Substack
These platforms are all reasonably easy to get to grips with, but it may be useful just to start playing around with them in the build-up anyway, especially Notion.
Additionally, we’ll also be exploring a wide range of self-tracking tools and knowledge systems, but these will vary between participants.
