The Weekly Circle #32
Welcome to the thirty-second episode of The Weekly Circle! A free Circles in Time newsletter released every Sunday.
Hey everybody,
The next round of the Circles in Time Essentials Programme starts on the 18th of March!
I have been working obsessively to turn this programme into the most effective 10-day course that individuals can do, to understand and change their own behaviour.
I genuinely believe that the latest version of the programme will come close to meeting that goal.
If you are interested in practical insights and tools for resolving your recurring self-control challenges, I am confident that you will get value out of the Essentials Programme.
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE PROGRAMME?
The purpose of the programme is to bring together a cohort of professionals from around the world, who are interested in how they can leverage behavioural science, systems thinking, self-experimentation and tracking tools in service of improving their personal health, wealth and effectiveness.
WHAT DO PARTICIPANTS GET OUT OF THE PROGRAMME?
By the end of the programme, you will have a clear sense of the behaviours you should focus on. You will have the ability to design, build and implement personal systems in service of your behavioural goals. You will have the ability to set up personal tracking tools to figure out what is working for you and what isn’t.
Along the way, you will also gain insight into how your mind, moods, and motivations work and learn about the inner workings of these mechanisms in the other members of the cohort.
Bonus 🧐
There is an additional benefit here that is particularly relevant to behavioural science researchers, practitioners, and professionals whose job it is to change customer, employee or citizen behaviour on a regular basis.
By understanding how to shape your own behaviour and having a tight feedback loop in place to figure out what works and what doesn’t, my bet is that you will build a set of relevant and useful skills within the context of your professional life.
WISE WORDS
THE QUOTES I CIRCLED AROUND THIS WEEK
“If we are in the right situation, we can achieve similar results to those who are more disciplined. Even if we don't have "it" at a young age, we can arrange our world in a way that enables our success. The good effects that we popularly ascribe to “self-control” are, it seems, more accurately captured by situational control.” ~ Wendy Wood
“You do not rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems.” ~ James Clear

Take care,
